when i was in seventh grade i remember someone used to walk home with me they were the type or person you got to know but were never quite sure if you were close enough to say hi to so instead we had this kind of awkward kind of friendly relationship but one day he stopped walking home so i assumed he just took the bus or got picked up after about a week i found out he just disappeared without a trace just before he arrived home i was unaware because i went a separate way after a certain point the police investigated his disappearance but the case went cold quickly without any leads it was like he had simply vanished out of thin air when i was older i heard some stories the type of stories you dont believe when a kid tells them but when an adult tells them an uncontrollable part of your brain begins to believe them even just a little bit the stories were about people who saw doors in the middle of nowhere no walls associated with them and nothing behind them but when you open the door and step through you end up in a world almost identical to yours but things are just slightly different i immediately linked it to the boy in seventh grade for a year researching these door anomalies consumed my waking hours my entire life became defined by finding one i would follow boards reporting their sightings or read chatlogs from chatrooms about them i would study everything about the people who find the doors and step through to see what kind of people they were and if that perhaps affected when and where the doors appear but no matter how hard i looked i never could find one until today today there was one in my living room detached from any wall just sitting there menacingly i wish i could say i hesitated but i didnt i opened it and stepped right through in an instant and before i knew it i was ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯gone.. . . ... . .. .. .. .... . .. .. ... .. .    . ...... ... . .. ... .. .. ...... . . . ... .  . .. ..    .  .   .    .     .      .       .          .       .
